Segregated Managed Account

Segregated Managed Accounts (SMA) are the preferred vehicle of sophisticated high-net-worth individuals, family offices and VCs who seek exposure to the DeFi ecosystem through a tailor-made risk profile. SMAs are managed separately as bespoke investment strategies. Working closely with clients, MEV Capital structures a vehicle through an SMA service agreement that focuses on specific risk appetite, investment horizon and underlying assets of choice. SMA clients gain access to the expertise of experienced DeFi asset managers at a competitive results-based fee structure.

SMA services entail

1. Formulation of a tailor-made strategy depending on the Client’s investment profile, time horizon, risk appetite, strategy types and choice of the underlying assets.

2. Setting up a multi-signature system to ensure asset security through an on-chain self-custody solution Gnosis Safe.

MEV Capital’s asset manager (“the Initiator”) allocates funds on the blockchain by initiating transactions directly from the Client’s wallet, which are processed only after the Client’s (“the Approver) approval is received.

The multi-signature system is composed of three private keys: one out of three keys owned by the Initiator, and the remaining two keys owned by The Approver. Every transaction requires at least 2 out of 3 verifications to move the funds, making the owner and the ultimate custodian of assets at all times.

3. Daily monitoring of the portfolio during the SMA lifetime including direct access to the dedicated asset manager, alongside a monthly report summing up the transactions of the last month, incurred transaction costs and associated returns earned on the Client’s portfolio.

4. High flexibility of the funds allowing to withdraw (partly or in full) or increase assets under management and updating the portfolio allocation strategy according to the Client’s preferences.

WHAT CONSTITUTES MEV CAPITAL MANAGED ACCOUNT?

A managed account (or segregated managed account) is a portfolio of digital assets deployed into yield-generating investment strategies in the DeFi environment that are managed on the Client’s behalf by a professional digital asset manager. Unlike in a fund structure, through the SMA, the Client directly owns underlying assets. Each separately managed account is designed to follow a specific risk tolerance level, time horizon or desired investment objective.

ARE THERE MINIMUM Commitment THRESHOLDS FOR SMA AT MEV CAPITAL?

Yes. The minimum threshold to open an SMA at MEV Capital is $500,000. If there is a need for an SMA with a smaller threshold amount, please send inquiry to contact@mevcapital.com

WHAT ARE THE TYPICAL ANNUAL FEES FOR MANAGED ACCOUNTS AT MEV CAPITAL?

MEV Capital charges up to 2% management fee on managed accounts and 20% performance fee on generated absolute returns. On separate agreements, MEV Capital retains the right to charge a higher performance fee on hyper-aggressive strategies which require high-intensity active management.

HOW DOES A SEGREGATED MANAGED ACCOUNT PROVIDE FLEXIBILITY AND CONTROL?

Investment through an SMA does not involve the transfer of asset ownership. It provides the ability to request adjustment and strategy modifications on particular Client’s needs and objectives at any point in time. The asset manager acts as the initiator of operations that in each case have to be approved by the Client.
